This is a series of exhibitions at Newcastle Contemporary Art and the foyer of High Bridge Works. These shows seek to celebrate the culture of the region's vibrant nightlife scenes, both past and present.

The North East of England has a strong history of creativity, building on its unique industrial past to forge its own identity. However, the aftershocks of the COVID pandemic and the cost-of-living crisis mean that many music venues struggle to keep their doors open, and artists face increasing financial pressures to continue their practice.

The three exhibitions in this programme explore how communities and individuals can adapt, invent and thrive in the face of both political and economic struggles.

Curated by Big Beat Manifesto, this exhibition aims to highlight the nightlife industry's current struggles while spotlighting the artists who are working to document and keep the scene alive.
